Emma

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, was born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both attorneys. As a child, she went to her school, the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. At the age of six, Emma was aware she would like to be an actress. For a number of years she was a student at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school in which she was taught singing dancing and acting. As early as age ten the actress took part in as the lead in several Stagecoach School plays and productions. In 1999 casting began to cast Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the movie adaptation of British author J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was identified by casting agents via Emma's Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman told Emma along together with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe that they had all been through 8 consecutive auditions. Emma's first film on the screen was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, released in 2001. It also was the film that was most popular of 2001. The opening weekend and day the sales were record breaking. Reviewers were awed by the performance of the film as well as its story. The Daily Telegraph, a well-read British newspaper, was awed by her for her performance. Emma's performance received nominations and won five awards later for the film.
